Wastelands - David Mercado

For propaganda I didn’t really know how to approach this piece since I didn’t want it to be too on the nose about the center topic. But as I looked at the many forms of propaganda it sort of has to in order to convey the message straight. For themes originally I wanted to showcase the whole idea of Ai and it’s many drawbacks however nothing I saw scrolling caught my eye. Until a pal of mine reminded me of flash games and how the website that formerly existed is now erased forever lost media.

 

Technically no maybe it was archived by users but it did get me more into the piece as more ideas started to form. One day I stopped by my aunt’s and witnessed how my little cousin was just scrolling on tiktok in their room. Out of curiosity I asked them if they played any of the flash games I once played. Out of 5 they only *heard* of 1. After critique I do say the center theme can be lost since there’s many pattern designs. Although I think it works better without any words since at that point It’s too obvious.
